BLOODY HOSPITALS

I WAITED ALL DAY TODAY FOR THE HOSPITAL TO PHONE ME, TO CONFIRM WHEN THEY ARE GOING ADMIT ME FOR MY BIOPSY, GUESS WHAT, YEAH YOU GOT IT, THEY DID NOT PHONE. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THEM REALLY, BUT TO BE TRUTHFUL I WAS A BIT SCARED, WHAT A WIMP I HEAR YOU SAY. I WILL RING TOMORROW, I PROMISE.

Stop worrying about the biopsy - its no big deal! When its over you will wonder what you were worried about! Take a good book with you. The six hours of terminal boredom afterwards are the worst part!

Hi Steve,

It probably is worth chasing up with both the heptology and haematology department. Have you had confirmation how long they want to keep you in?

I only stayed in overnight but then I signed myself out early as thay did want to keep me in two nights. I know when we last spoke that the heamatologist had indicated 3 days before and 3 days after treatment for you.

Oh yes the N&N have at bed television, you need to buy charge cards but you do get a fair selection of channels.

Don't worry though you won't be bored, what Martin doesn't realise is that you will have to have your blood pressure taken every 30 minutes for something like 4 hours, then hourly for 4 hours and then 2 hourly for a bit. I actually managed to sleep through one blood pressure check.

Hi Steve- I just had a biopsy and it wasn't that bad. They warned me that I might get a pain in my shoulder and this happened almost immediately - paracetamol fixed that. I thought I was going to have to lie on my right side for 5 hours but they said I could lie on my back which certainly made reading a darn site easier. Don't worry about it and good luck!
