I WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN THIS AFTERNOON, I PHONED THE HOSPITAL AND SPOKE TO A DOCTOR WHO SAID SHE THOUGHT THEY MIGHT HAVE PUNCTURED MY LUNG WHILE THEY WERE DOING THE BIOPSY AND I NEEDED TO GO BACK.
I WENT BACK AND HAD A CHEST X-RAY, LUCKILY THEY DIDN'T, THEY CALLED THE CONSULTANT IN (ON A SATURDAY), HE EXAMINED ME AND SAID HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, IT WAS THE PAIN AFTER A BAD BIOPSY.
THANK GOD THERE WASN'T ANYTHING BADLY WRONG.

Hi Steve,
Hope you are feeling better now. My first biopsy was a bugger too. The biopsy needle scraped my lung and then they didnt get the 'right sort of material', so I had to have another one. The second one went smoothly and was OK.
I refuse to have any more, and am only on this treatment now because the nice doctor said I wouldnt have to have another one if I started treatment this year.
My fear of another biopsy was worse than my fear of the treatment.
Anyway, its over now so be glad of that and hope you feel better quickly.
best wishes
Wendy
Reassuring isn't it! The good news is that there isn't any bleeding, bit of a bugger that there is pain - though at least you can be confident (?) that it will pass. I guess more rest is the order fo the day.

Hi Steve,
Am very glad that you went in and got checked out. Much better to know what's going on, than to be worrying and having the chance that there are serious issues happening. You totally did the right thing.
Hope that the pain subsides soon. Relax and take it easy! Sue
THANK YOU TO WENDY, JONATHAN AND SUE FOR YOUR KIND WORDS, THEY REALLY DO MEAN A LOT. IT'S NICE TO KNOW I AM NOT ALONE IN MY FIGHT.
CHEERS JANE, TO BE HONEST THE DOCTOR DOING THE BIOPSY WAS SHAKING MORE THAN ME. HE ALSO DID A LIVER BIOPSY ON A GUY ON THE SAME WARD AS ME AND MADE A MESS OF THAT AS WELL. AS YOU SAY THE LUCK OF THE DRAW.
ALL THE BEST
STEVE
